March Update

March madness has a new definition for the woman that is currently filling my role at the Campus Crusade office! When I asked her what she was currently working on, so my supporters could have a feel for what my life will be like when I am on staff, she gave the list below of some event:

Coming up in April: Intern & STINT Kick-off 2011(April 15-17), Financial Stewardship Conference 2011 (April 28-29), Intern Debriefing 2011 (April 28-29), Regional Staff Retreat 2011(April 29-May 1)

For Summer and Fall: WSN Briefing and Debriefing for Summer Projects,  Crossroads 2011,Ethnic Field Ministry Retreat 2011, Staff Fall Conference 2011, and all kinds of spring and fall retreats for campuses all over our region that need help planning.
As you can see there is SO much to do!  I can’t wait to experience this kind of March Madness when I get into the office! The woman who has been working in this job is stepping away from this role in June.  It is urgent for me to finish raising my support by then!!  Currently I am at 61% which means I have $2,010 in monthly support left to raise. That could be 21 supporters at $100 a month or 41at $50 a month or 81 at $25 a month. Continual prayer is coveted friends, that I’ll reach 75% by April and 100% by June. My desire is to start the new school year out on a strong foot with ample time for training. The urgency has become even more of a reality after receiving the facts of the void in June.

A passage God has given me of encouragement regarding my support raising:

“Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believer in Jerusalem.  They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do.   ….I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. I am not commanding you to do this. …You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich. ….Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have.  Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. … As the Scriptures say, “Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough.”
2 Corinthians 8:1-15

Prayer requests:

* That I would raise $1,005 in monthly support by April.
* That I would raise the total $2,010 by June.
***PRAISE REPORT: I have been blessed with an almost new laptop that has been donated to me! ***
