On one of my walks today I decided a route that isn't my norm. Since it had been raining all night and was supposed to rain sporadically during the day I thought it would be wise to stay closer to home. As of right now it is one of my favorite streets. When you walk down the street one way you find a row of little shops that reside below my apartment complex, palm trees and a community center. Some days little ballet dancers come pouring out with their tutu's and tights with their cute little ribbons in their hair. Other days the senior citizen coming walking out after practicing their jujitsu (I don't actually know if that is what they are practicing but we'll go with that. But the other side of the street is my favorite part. Both sides of the sidewalk are covered with full I am guessing oak trees that form a canopy effect over your head as you walk down the street. This particular street is so quite that sometimes you can hear yourself breath. I love this street. The only thing that makes this street better is just after it has rained. Besides the air being so cool your nose turns red, the silence is golden. All you hear is the cracking of branches under your feet and kids playing in the distance. The smell that the rain has left behind is so clean and crisp. You can smell the dew that has been left on the the trees and the wet grass that lines the side of the street. There are rows of adorable little town homes that line the street and as you turn the corner you are greeted by an adorable little park. So many take streets like this for granted but my heart gets a little happy when I get to walk down this street. I LOVE the street where I live!
